Winemaker's Dinner
Wednesday, April 25th at 7PM

Guigal, one of the Rhone Valley's great winemakers. Four courses and four wines, and some stellar samples. The Rhone Valley, just below Burgundy is an area that produces some of the best wines that pair with Chef Dominique's food. As the Rhone Valley is further south, the wines are more robust, intense and earthy in character thus matching with some of the strong flavors that are typical of the Chef's menu. So, be in for a treat and reserve now!

Wine Pairing Series
Thursday, March 1st at 6PM
Burgundy - Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir is a delicate grape grown in many parts of the world. It is food-friendly wine, light in character with hints of many different fruits. Pinot Noir originally came from France's Burgundy region, an area we will be focusing on more during our tour of France in March. That's right - March - and it is just around the corner. Join us as we explore two Burgundian Houses and two West Coast Vineyards this upcoming Thursday evening starting at 6PM. Pinot Noir is also a wonderful sipping wine, as well as a serious wine to be matched with food. And, we are going to do that with Chef Dominique who has created a tasting menu to match our four wine selections. Not to be missed!

Reservations are required and seating is limited. $40 per person. Please call the Bistro 518-786-8272 to make your reservation.

Passport to France:
The Region of Alsace-Lorraine

Every month we visit a new region of France through our Passport to France dining program.

Through January 2012, we visit is the Alsace, a very unusual region of France. Unlike all other regions of France, the Alsace is the most different, because of its history where is was bounced back and forth between France and Germany several times. From a culinary standpoint, this created very different French food. The food and wine of the Alsace has a distinctively Germanic flavor to it. You might refer to it as German food with a French twist. Also interesting: much of the French-Canadian comfort foods we love came from the Alsace!

Schenectady, NY's Daily Gazette
"At The Table" with us!

Thanks to Caroline Lee for visiting us and writing a vivid account of what it is like to dine at The Epicurean:

“Are we in Latham?” I asked Mary as we walked through the swanky Epicurean restaurant in the Latham Farms shopping center. On the right: an elegant lounge area with low couches and cocktail tables (with copies of wine magazines arranged casually), high tables, sleek clientele.

The black-painted ceiling looms high over the dining room to the left. Heavy draperies divide the dining area and hush unwanted noise. And everything, and I mean everything, including the lighted curios and candelabra, is in such good taste.
